Welcome

Welcome to the webhome of the String Theory group, in the School of Physics at Queen Mary University of London.

Activities

  • Workshop "PICS 2010" 18-19 October 2010
    The Centre for Research in String Theory organised a workshop which served as a kick-off meeting for the joint collaboration we have with the Laboratoire de Physique Theorique et Hautes Energies at UPMC. The broad theme of the meeting was black holes in string theory, studied from different points of view. More information can be found here.

  • Workshop "Amplitudes 2010" 4-7 May 2010
    The Centre for Research in String Theory organised a workshop on novel methods for calculating amplitudes in perturbative gauge theory and gravity. The goal of this meeting was to review recent progress, stimulate interactions and collaborations, and inspire further developments. More information including slides of talks can be found here.

  • String Duality at the School of Physics - Saturday 22 May 2010
    Join string theorists from the School of Physics at Queen Mary, one of the leading international centres of research in string theory, for a relaxed programme of lectures, conversation and lunch. Click here to download an invitation and booking form. Online booking is also available. For more information, email alumni@qmul.ac.uk or call +44 (0)20 7882 7790.

  • We run an annual Graduate Program in String/Field Theory

  • Workshops and conferences organised by Queen Mary researchers:

    Fundamental Physics UK: 2007, 2008 and 2009, Kings College London November 2007 & 2008 and Cambridge November 2009.

    Charapfest , April 11th 2008, Queen Mary.

    The Big Draw , September/October 2007 (see also here );

    Advancing Collider Physics: from Twistors to Monte Carlos, Galileo Galilei Institute, Florence, August-October 2007;

    M-theory in the City , Queen Mary, 9-11 November, 2006;

    From Twistors to Amplitudes, Queen Mary, 3-5 November, 2005.
