PICS Meeting 2010

18 - 19 October 2010

The Laboratoire de Physique Théorique et Hautes Energies at UPMC and the Centre for Research in String Theory at QMUL have started a joint collaboration, partially funded by a CNRS "Projet International de Coopération Scientifique", and involving researchers also from the Institut de Physique Théorique at CEA Saclay and the Theoretical Physics group at Imperial College.
This workshop will serve as a kick-off meeting for our project and aims to bring together people working in the general area of string theory from all the institutions involved. The purpose of the meeting is to stimulate the interaction and collaboration between researchers from different institutions and inspire further developments. The broad theme of the meeting are black holes in string theory, studied from different points of view (counting of states, microstate geometries, applications to AdS/CFT).
